Sergeant Christopher Niemiec Honored by Essex County Traffic Officers Association

At a luncheon held by the Essex County Traffic Officers Association on February 13, 2018 in Livingston, N.J. Sergeant Christopher Niemiec was presented with the "Timothy Larney Memorial Traffic Safety Education and Enforcement Award" . Essex County Police Academy Community Traffic Safety Coordinator Arnold Anderson presented Sergeant Niemiec with the award and informed the attendees that it was named after  former Livingston Police Office Timothy Larney whose dedication to traffic related education and enforcement was well known around the county and the state. Unfortunately, Officer Larney passed away in 2010.

Mr. Anderson stated that Niemiec possess many of the same qualities of Larney and that he received the award, in part, for his work in organizing the annual child safety seat installation event that is held  at Target in Fairfield. Sgt. Niemiec said he was humbled in receiving the honor. Also on hand for the presentation was Officer Larney's widow Susan.
