Welfare Check of Parked Vehicle Results in Drug Arrest

Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Jessica Faber (19) of Parsippany, N.J. for being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on October 7, 2017.

On that date, at approximately 9:04 A.M., a concerned citizen contacted the police department and requested that officers check on the condition of a female at Target, located on Route 46. The caller stated that she observed the female allegedly having difficulty walking. The female then entered a gray Honda Accord where she allegedly was holding a pink plastic bag containing a white powder. The female appeared to be nodding off in the car. Officer Christopher Yoo and Sergeant John McGrory responded.

Upon arrival, they found the gray Honda that was occupied by Faber. It is alleged that Faber had difficulty keeping her balance, slurred speech, was slow in responding to their basic questions, and in their opinion, appeared to be under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.

As the investigation continued, it is alleged that the officers recovered a small quantity of suspected marijuana and a pink plastic bag containing the residue of a white powdery substance, believed to have been cocaine, and a smoking pipe. Faber was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. After being processed, she was released on her own recognizance pending an appearance in the Fairfield Municipal Court on October 12, 2017.

(It should be noted that the charges against Faber are merely allegations and that she is presumed innocent until she either pleads guilty or is found guilty in a court of law)
