Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Antonio Brana (60) of Paterson, N.J. for shoplifting on February 27, 2013. The incident that led to the arrest took place at approximately 1:45 P.M. at the Target store, located on Route 46. That is when the Fairfield Police Department was contacted by Target security advising that they had an alleged shoplifter in custody. Officers Ian Rasmussen and John McGrory responded to investigate.
It is alleged that Brana concealed Enfamil baby formula in the sleeves of a jacket that he had in his shopping cart and then proceeded to walk out the doors without having paid. He was detained by store security without incident until police could arrived.
Officer McGrory charged him with one count of shoplifting. He was released on his own recognizance with an initial court appearance date scheduled for March 14, 2013 in the Fairfield Municipal Court. (It should be noted that the charges against him are merely allegations and that he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law)
