Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Daniel Walder (24) of Wayne, N.J. on January 8, 2012, for allegedly possessing and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Sergeant Joseph Keegan was on patrol when he observed a 1999 Volkswagon that was stopped in the parking lot of 390-400 Fairfield Road, The driver appeared to the officer to be acting suspiciously. Sergeant Keegan exited his vehicle and approached the vehicle. As he did, he allegedly observed Walder in the use of a controlled dangerous substance. Walder was placed under arrest without incident. Officers also allegedly recovered a glassine packet that contained suspected heroin.
The charges against Walder are being referred to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office for review, with Walder’s initial superior court appearance scheduled for January 18, 2012
