Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Harry Neugold 4th (19) of Fairfield, N.J. for driving while intoxicated on May 14, 2013. At approximately 2:40 A.M., Officer John McGrory allegedly observed a 2001 Ford Taurus make an improper right turn on red at New Dutch Lane and then almost struck a curb. The officer then allegedly attempted to stop the vehicle but it continued to the intersection of Passaic Avenue and Greenbrook Road. The vehicle then allegedly disregarded the red traffic signal at Greenbrook Road and finally pulled into the A Plus Sunoco station.
After conducting a field investigation which included sobriety testing the driver, identified as Neugold 4th, was placed under arrest and his vehicle impounded. In addition to driving while intoxicated, he was also charged with making an improper right turn on red, careless driving, improper use of a cell phone, failure to maintain a lane, failure to exhibit a driver’s license and failure to wear a seatbelt. He was given an initial court appearance date of May 16, 2013 in the Fairfield Municipal Court. (It should be noted that the charges against him are merely allegations and that he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law)
