Paterson Pair Arrested for Shoplifting

Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield police Department announce the arrest of Limary Colon (26) and Perla Diaz (27) both of Paterson, N.J.  Both were charged with conspiracy to commit shoplifting, with Colon also being charged with shoplifting on June 19, 2013. At approximately 12:44 P.M., the Fairfield Police Department was contacted by Target security and advised that there was a shoplifting offense in progress. Target security alleged that Colon had filled a shopping cart with various items and had pushed it out the front entrance doors without paying. The merchandise was then allegedly loaded into a 2000 Dodge van which then exited onto Route 46 East. Officer Thomas Myers, responding to the call, observed the suspect’s vehicle and initiated a motor vehicle stop. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident. Over $1700.00 in merchandise was recovered in the van.

Both were later released on their own recognizance and given an initial court appearance date of June 27, 2013 in the Superior Court in Newark, N.J. (It should be noted that the charges against the pair are merely allegations and that both are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law)
