Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Marianne Lyons (55) of North Caldwell, N.J. for driving while under the Influence on August 19, 2013. At approximately 7:42 P.M., Officers Christopher Nicholas and Frank Tracey were dispatched to the area of the A Plus Sunoco station, located at 152 Passaic Avenue, to investigate a three car motor vehicle crash that took place in the parking lot. The initial investigation revealed that the operator of a 2012 Cadillac, later identified as Lyons, allegedly struck two parked vehicles in the lot.
During the course of the investigation, it is alleged that Lyons was unable to perform field sobriety tests administered by Officer Nicholas which ultimately led to her arrest. She was transported to police headquarters and eventually charged with driving while intoxicated; driving while intoxicated within a school zone and careless driving. She was eventually released on her own recognizance and given an initial court appearance date of August 22, 2013 in the Fairfield Municipal Court. (It should be noted that the charges against Lyons are merely allegations and that she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law)
