Pine Brook Man Arrested for Credit Card Fraud

Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Ryan Lopez (21) of Pine Brook, N.J. for credit card theft and fraudulent use of a credit card on August 19, 2013. At approximately 4:41 P.M., a North Caldwell resident came to the Fairfield Police Department to report alleged fraudulent activity occurring on one of his credit cards. He stated that his credit card had been stolen and fraudulently used at the Target store in Fairfield to purchase and I-Pad. The victim alleged that the individual he believed to be involved in the theft and use of his credit card was Lopez, an associate of the victim.

Officers Ian Rasmussen and Raymond Puluse contacted the Montville Police Department in order to obtain background information on Lopez. Coincidentally, the Montville police informed Fairfield they currently had Lopez in custody on unrelated charges. They further confirmed that Lopez allegedly had in his possession an I-Pad and a Target receipt that had the victim’s credit card number on it.

Lopez was eventually transported to Fairfield police headquarters where he was charged and eventually released on his own recognizance with an initial court appearance date of August 29, 2013 in the Superior Court in Newark, N.J. (It should be noted that the charges against Lopez are merely allegations and that he is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law)
