North Caldwell Man Arrested for Suspected DUI
Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield police Department announces the arrest of Gary Falzarano (46) of North Caldwell, N.J. for driving under the influence on October 31, 2013. On that date, at approximately 2:39 A.M., Sergeant David Proctor was conducting the nightly check of liquor-licensed establishments within the Township, to assure they are complying with local ordinance requirements relating to closing times.
While checking Neko’s Tavern, located on Little Falls Road, the officer allegedly observed a 2003 Ford pick up truck that had apparently been driven off of the edge of the parking lot and was now stuck in the dirt. The truck’s frame was now touching the ground. The officer observed Falzarano sitting inside of the vehicle.
Investigation at the scene resulted in Falzarano being arrested for allegedly operating his vehicle while under the influence. His vehicle was impounded pursuant to New Jersey law and he was transported to police headquarters for chemical breath testing. In addition to being charged with driving under the influence he was also charged with careless driving. He was eventually released on his own recognizance with a pending court date of November 14, 2013 in the Fairfield Municipal Court. (It should be noted that the charges against Falzarano are merely allegations and that he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law)
