Elmwood Park Woman Arrested for Driving Under the Influence
Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Tiffany Blanford (33) of Elmwood Park, N.J. for driving under the influence on January 16, 2013. On that date, at approximately 1:17 AM, Officer John McGrory observed a 1999 Oldsmobile stopped with its lights off in front of the old Byrnes Power Equipment Company, located at 482 Horseneck Road. The officer allegedly observed Blanford outside of the vehicle and decided to check on the suspicious condition.
During the course of his contact with Blanford, the officer allegedly made several observations relative to Blanford’s condition which included the presence of an odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, she had difficulty walking, her speech was slurred and that she continually talked about being lost and trying to find Route 80 West.
As a result, the officer administered field sobriety tests which ultimately led to her arrest without incident. She was transported to police headquarters for breath testing and her vehicle was impounded pursuant to New Jersey law.
Blanford was eventually released on her own recognizance with a pending initial court appearance date of January 23, 2014 in the Fairfield Municipal Court. (It should be noted that the charges against Blanford are merely allegations and that she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law)
