10 Pounds of Marijuana Intercepted at Fed Ex Distribution Center

Fairfield (NJ) On March 3, 2014, the Fairfield Police Department was contacted by representatives of the Federal Express facility, located on Daniel Road, regarding a suspicious package that was being shipped through their facility. The package was deemed suspicious do to how it was packaged and secured, its location of origin and its final destination. As a result, the package was checked further and found to contain 10 pounds of marijuana, packaged in one pound increments. The contraband was turned over to the Fairfield police for further investigation and destruction. “The street value of this seizure could be as high as $30,000” said Deputy Chief Anthony Manna
