Police Investigate Bloomfield Avenue Car Crash
Fairfield (NJ) On June 30, 2014, at approximately 4:21 PM, the Fairfield Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a motor vehicle crash on Bloomfield Avenue near Verner Cadby Ford. Upon arrival, the officers determined there were no injuries at the scene. Investigation revealed that a 2012 Honda, being operated by Brian Lawless (56) of Verona, N.J. was travelling east on Bloomfield Avenue when he allegedly got distracted and looked down at a water bottle inside of the car. In that moment, the Honda left the roadway and eventually struck a telephone pole and six new vehicles that were parked in the parking lot of Verner Cadby Ford. The incident is being investigated by Officer Christopher Nicholas. No summonses have been issued at present.
