Fairfield (NJ) On July 29, 2014, at approximately 2:23 P.M., the Fairfield Police Department responded to a two car motor vehicle crash on Passaic Avenue, near the intersection of Greenbrook Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Ford Edge, being operated by Robert Esposito (40) of Lyndhurst, N.J., was traveling in the right, northbound lane of Passaic Avenue when a 2004 Toyota Corolla, being operated by Anthony Melillo (75) of Clifton, N.J. allegedly made a left hand turn in front of the Ford in an attempt to enter the A-Plus Sunoco station. Impact occurred causing the Ford to leave the roadway and end up on the lawn of Waveline, located at 180 Passaic Avenue. Both drivers complained of minor injuries, with both refusing any medical attention. The incident is being investigated by Officer David Chabay. No summons have been issued as of yet.
