Fairfield Police Accredited for the Fourth Consecutive Time

Fairfield (NJ) – The Fairfield Police Department proudly announces that they have received their fourth consecutive re-accreditation through the New Jersey Association of Chiefs of Police Law Enforcement Accreditation Program.  The accreditation process itself is a voluntary, three-year certification process that verifiespolice agencies meet high professional standards.  It enhances accountability, reduces liability, and ensures compliance with 112 best practices, including personnel training, internal affairs and operations, as reviewed by independent assessors.

Harry Delgado, the Accreditation Program Director for the New Jersey State Association Chiefs of Police, presented the department with their new certificate at the town council meeting held on April 27, 2026.

“If you consider all of the agencies in the State of New Jersey that would be eligible to apply for accreditation, 54% of those have actually made it once.  Those that have made it 4 times, such as the Fairfield Police Department, fall into an elite group of less than 6% of all the agencies in New Jersey. That’s quite an accomplishment and long-term commitment to excellence,” said Delgado.

Fairfield Sergeant Thomas Myers, the department’s Accreditation Manager, was present along with Chief Anthony Manna to receive the new certificate.

“The Fairfield Police Department remains committed to best practices in policing and ethics

In order to maintain the public’s trust and confidence.Adhering to these professional standards becomes much easier when you have the quality of officers that we have in Fairfield” said Chief Anthony G. Manna.

This year, the monumental task of proving that the department adheres to all the measurable standards fell to first time accreditation manager Sergeant Thomas Myers. “Tom did a tremendous job, and I am extremely proud of his efforts and his dedication to the accreditation process,” said the chief.

The Fairfield Police Department will maintain their full accreditation status until 2028.
