Garfield Man Charged After Committing Lewd Act In Target Parking Lot


Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announce the arrest of Vincent Evelina (25) of Garfield, NJ for lewdness and harassment on February 12, 2023.  On that date, at approximately 11:00 am, Evelina was observed seated in his car in the Target parking lot by a female.  The woman parked her vehicle next to Evelina’s, went shopping for approximately one hour, and returned to her car with her child.  It was at this time Evelina was allegedly seen by the female performing a lewd act inside his vehicle.  The female secured her child in the car and left the area, only to notice Evelina allegedly following her onto Route 46 East.  She exited into the Willowbrook Mall parking lot where she was able to locate a Wayne Police officer and report the incident.

 

Corporal David Lagan and Special Officer Gia Gagliano responded to the Willowbrook Mall to interview the victim.  She provided a description of the male and his vehicle.  The officers were able to obtain video surveillance from Target connecting Evelina to the vehicle.  

 

Detective Daniel Moran continued the investigation and Evelina was charged with both lewdness and harassment. An upcoming date in the Fairfield Municipal Court is pending.

 

 

(It should be noted that the charges against Evelinaare merely allegations and that he is presumed innocent until he either pleads guilty or is found guilty in a court of law)
