​Wanted Hoboken Man Arrested Following Motor Vehicle Stop

Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Michael Alessi (54) of Hoboken, NJ on March 8, 2023 following a motor vehicle stop.  On that date at approximately 10:50 am, police dispatch advised officers of an alert to a NCIC wanted person notification from an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) in town.  A description of the vehicle was broadcast along with the registration and wanted persons information to officers on the road.

 

Officer Ryan Cleary was able to locate, stop, and positively identify the driver, Michael Alessi, as being wanted on a warrant from the Belleville Police Department.  He was arrested and transported back to police headquarters for processing.  Alessi was later turned over to the Belleville Police Department.

 

“It just goes to show how valuable our license plate readers are,” said Officer Stacy Chiarolanza.  “They are constantly helping to assist in investigations and in this case, take a wanted person off the streets.”

 

(It should be noted that the charges against Alessiare merely allegations and that he is presumed innocent until he either pleads guilty or is found guilty in a court of law)
