Fairfield (NJ) – On Monday, February 12, 2024, Officer Andrew VanderWal was sworn in as the newest member of the Fairfield Police Department. Officer VanderWal began his law enforcement career with the Fairfield Police Department as a Class II Special Police Officer on January 4, 2022. He then graduated from the Morris County Police Academy in May of that same year. While still serving as one of our special police officers, Andrew was then hired by Fairfield as a full-time police dispatcher on December 14, 2022. He is a certified Emergency Medical Technician.
