​Morristown Man Arrested for Not Returning Car

Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Clarence Vanzile (56) of Morristown, N.J. for receiving stolen property on January 21, 2023.  On that date, at approximately 10:00 AM, one of the department's automated license plate readers alerted officers to the presence of a stolen 2005 Mazda with North Carolina license plates which was traveling on Route 46. Corporal Jeffrey Dean spotted the vehicle in the area of Hollywood Avenue. Officers then initiated a felony stop of the vehicle at which time, the driver and sole occupant, Clarence Vanzile was taken into custody without incident. Further investigation revealed that Vanzile had borrowed the vehicle from the registered owner in North Carolinaover two months ago but never returned it even after the registered owner told him to. Vanzile was charged with receiving stolen property and was released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Superior Court in Newark on March 2, 2023.

 

(It should be noted that the charge against Vanzile ismerely an allegation and that he is presumed innocent until he either pleads guilty or is found guilty in a court of law)
