Fairfield Officers Save Route 80 Motorist Involved in Crash

Fairfield (NJ) On August 31, 2019, at approximately 12:49 P.M., all cars were dispatched onto Route 80 West on a report of a suspected intoxicated driver that was all over the road. The vehicle involved was described as a 2017 gold Hyundai. Before officers could respond to look for this vehicle, it was reported that it collided with multiple vehicles and Hyundai was now stopped on the shoulder and the driver, a 55 year old male from Franklin. N.J., was slumped over the wheel.

Sergeant Frank Tracey and Officers Sean Wilk and James High Jr. arrived to find the driver was unconscious, had no pulse and was barely breathing. Additionally it is alleged that the officers observed approximately 10 folds of suspected heroin. The officers administered two doses of Naloxone and assisted with rescue breathing. A short time later, the driver finally became conscious.
