Four Arrested After Flawed Shoplifting Attempt of Beauty Products from Target

Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announce the arrests of Mia Bermudez (18), of Bayonne NJ, Jessica Cespedes-Jaimez (19), of Jersey City, NJ, Mia Dimas (18), of West New York NJ, and Pricsila Pozo-Principe (18) of West New York NJ, all for shoplifting on May 10, 2023.

On that date at approximately 6:37pm, Target security contacted the Fairfield Police advising they had detained two individuals for shoplifting from the store.  Officer Gia Gagliano responded along with Officers Brian Holzmann, Sean Wilk, James Ciampi and Cory Perrette.  It was determined that Target security had detained Bermudez and Cespedes-Jaimez for allegedly shoplifting approximately $779.25 worth of beauty products from the store.  They were allegedly observed by security along with both Dimas and Pozo-Principe placing items into shopping carts.  Both Bermudez and Cespedes-Jaimez were then seen pushing the carts past all points of sale and exiting the store before being stopped by Target security.  Dimas and Pozo-Principe were later located in the store and responded to the security office.

All four individuals were placed under arrest for shoplifting and transported to police headquarters for processing.  In addition to the shoplifting charge, they were all also charged with conspiracy.  All were released pending a June 13, 2023 appearance at the Essex County Superior Court.

(It should be noted that the charges are merely allegations and that there is a presumption of innocence until they either plead guilty or are found guilty in a court of law)
