Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Robert Purdy (44) of Effort, PA., Travis Nachtigall (29) of Strousburg, PA. and Samantha Monteforte (26) of Point Pleasant, N.J. for possession of an imitation firearm and possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on October 28, 2019.
On that date, at approximately 9:27 P.M., Detective Sergeant Jeffrey Didyk and Detective Jeffrey Dean were patrolling the parking lot of the LaQuinta hotel, located at 38 Two Bridges Road, when they observed an occupied 2017 Hyundai that was parked in a darkened area of the parking lot in a suspicious manner. At this point, the officers approached the occupants. It is alleged that one of the officers observed that the front seat passenger, identified as Nechtigall, had items of drug paraphernalia on his lap. At this time, all of the occupants of the vehicle were detained.
Further investigation allegedly led to the discovery of 191 folds containing suspected heroin, a small quantity of methamphetamine, methadone, Suboxone, items of drug paraphernalia, and a silver Bear River CO2 revolver-style handgun. All of the occupants were then placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. All of the defendants were later transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, N.J. pending a bail hearing.
(It should be noted that all of the accused are presumed innocent until they either plead guilty or are found guilty in a court of law)
